What's New at Zenerate

Updated on February 4, 2026

Early-stage feasibility work moves fast—and small inefficiencies compound quickly. Rebuilding the same building types, reselecting components, or working around limited editing controls can quietly slow down iteration when speed matters most.

This latest Zenerate release focuses on removing that friction. We've introduced a reusable Building Library, significantly expanded 2D and 3D editing controls, and added new tools for working with real-world site conditions like topography and grading. Together, these updates are designed to reduce repetitive setup, improve precision, and make it easier to test, adjust, and refine feasibility scenarios as projects evolve.

Below is a detailed walkthrough of what's new and how each update fits into a faster, more flexible feasibility workflow.

🏢 Building Library

You can now save and reuse your buildings with the Building Library.

• After editing a building, click Save to Building Library at the bottom of the right panel. You will be told to name your building, and you will see that your building has been saved afterwards.

• Go back to the Workspace and click Building Library from the Add Building menu at the bottom.

• You can add labels to better organize and manage your saved buildings.

• Use Label Filters, More Filters, and Building Name Search to quickly find what you're looking for, hover to see building information. Hover and click on Expand to view building floor plans per floor.

• Select a building and click Load to bring it back into your Workspace.

✏️ Editing Structure Updates

This update includes major improvements and changes to the editing experience.

(If you need more assistance with editing, feel free to contact us at: product@zenerate.ai)

• You can now drag to select multiple buildings and components.

Hold Shift and Click Components to add or remove items from your selection.

• Group selected items using the Group button in the floating menu. Grouped items will be selected together going forward. Click again to Ungroup.

Move buildings using the Move handles, which appear when you hover over or select components, and Rotate components using the Rotate handle on the edge of the building.

• To move the map location, use the Pan tool by clicking and dragging with the mouse wheel, or select the Pan tool from the bottom-left toolbar.

• Clicking a building enters Edit Layout Mode, allowing you to edit components inside the building. The bottom Add menu will update accordingly. To exit Edit Layout Mode, simply deselect the building.

📦 3D Selection & Move

You can now select and move buildings directly in 3D.

• Go to 3D View and click on a building. The right-hand panel will appear, where you can directly input values and see changes in real time.

• You can also move buildings in 3D. (For more detailed editing, we recommend using the 2D View.)

⛰️ Topography

• Click the Contour icon in the bottom-left toolbar.

• Use the Topography tool to visualize Contour Lines and 3D Terrain.

🚧 Site Grading

You can now create multiple elevation levels on your site.

• Click on the site boundary to enter Site Grading mode.

• Use the floating menu to Split and Merge site areas.

• Adjust Elevation and MSL for each segmented area in the right panel.

• Set Project Zero to change the site's elevation reference level.
