Designing Standalone Buildings

Updated on July 29, 2025

When planning for retail, storage, or other non-residential spaces, you can use our Standalone Building feature to create custom structures on your site. This format allows for complete flexibility in designing multi-level buildings with a mix of uses.

Add Standalone Building

To place a standalone building on your site, follow these steps:

Click Edit on the toolbar at the bottom of the page,Click on Building,Select Standalone from the options

A new standalone building will appear on your site. You can then modify it to fit your project needs.

Edit Standalone Building

Once a standalone building is selected, a toolbar will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. From there, you can adjust the level configuration (number of floors and starting floor), assign use types such as retail, office, storage, and more, modify floor-to-floor heights, and set use ratios per level.

Let’s say you're designing a five-story standalone building with the following space allocations:

Floors 1–3
- 50% Retail
- 50% Office,Floors 4
- 40% Office
- 30% Amenity
- 30% Facility,Floors 5
- 50% Facility
- 50% Storage

To configure this layout, follow these steps:

Set the lowest level to 1F in the standalone building toolbar.,In the First Level settings, set the number of floors to 3.,Click Add Use and select Retail and Office,Set both use ratios to 50%,Click Add Levels to configure Floors 4 and 5,For Floor 4, add Office (40%), Amenity (30%), and Facility (30%),For Floor 5, add Facility (50%) and Storage (50%)

The standalone building will automatically allocate space across each floor according to the ratios you've entered.
